My normal nav light bulbs are rated 25w and 12-32 v.
Running them at 12v they may be legal, but are not bright enough to suit me. I don't really want to have to put on a transformer to up the voltage. Isn't there a higher wattage bulb available? I can't find one.

Those are nice lights. According to the manufacturer site they come in both 12V and 24V versions.
I don't see how an incandescent light bulb can be rated 12-32V though.
What type of lights do you use?
- For incandescant lights to burn brightly you need to run them at a voltage near the maximum rated voltage, but never over. If you have these, just switch to 12V lights.
- LED lights with built in driver electronics can have a wide input range, and if they do then a voltage increase won't help at all with creating a brighter image.
The correct aquasignal part number for this light
is 90002-7 for 12v, 90003-7 for 24v, 90285-1 for 32v
all of these are 25watt bulbs.
