I'd like to install a Maretron wind/weather sensor on my network and would like to know if anyone can tell me whether my Furuno TZT9 (which is where I'd want to view the wind info) will be able to calculate true wind given that it already has speed and heading info. I read on another thread that true wind could be calculated and output on NMEA2000 by a Simrad AC42 autopilot computer. My system has the Simrad AC12, so if the TZT won't do it, perhaps the AC12 could? I'd appreciate if anyone could help shed a little light on this for me. Thanks

Furnuno TZT9 will calculate true wind speed and angle. Two options are provided based on either speed through the water, or SOG, given heading data.
