I have my new NMEA2000 system up and running with a mix of Garmin GMI 10 and B&G Triton displays. Boat speed information is provided by an Airmar transducer model dst800 supplied by B&G. It over-reads speed by almost 10%. On the Triton displays this is easily corrected, but the Garmin GMI 10's have nothing that I can find in their menus, or in the manual, to enable the displayed speed to be a set percentage of the speed sent by the paddlewheel transducer.
Does anyone have a solution? Am I tackling it the wrong way, by attempting to adjust instruments rather than sensor output? If so how do I calibrate the DST800?
I'm pretty sure you can enter an offset into the sensor using Maretrons N2K analyzer software. You will need:
A laptop
the software (free download)
and a gateway like the maretron USB 100.
I'm not sure if the analyzer software can work with anyone else' gateway.
Thank you.
I have found the answer. It was just a question of navigating the menus correctly. the answer is: Menu, Setup, NMEA2000 Setup, Device List, Airmar DST200, Config, Calibrate Water Speed.
You can also set keel offset and temperature offset.
