I am hoping the Panbots can help here. I am looking for an HD monitor between 20 and 24 inches to be used for onboard entertainment. My requirements are low energy usage, vesa mount and and external power brick so it can be wired in without an inverter. In my searching the combination of external brick, vesa mount and low wattage seems to be mutually exclusive.
Any leads?
Thanks,
Matt
I'm not looking in that large a size, but I have been looking into DC (and USB) powered screens here's my list of things I've found:
Hi Matt,
I'm in the market for the same monitor and I haven't found it yet. What I have found is that Samsung and LG both have some beautiful new LED monitors out that are very thin and run on 12V, but lack the VESA mount. While their LED TV's typically have the AC transformer build in, are thicker but have the VESA mounts. I think the LG TVs are DC, but like 20V which could be done with a DC-DC converter. Anyway, I'm still looking for that perfect combo. It seems like it would be a little bit easier if my boat was 24V, but unfortunately isn;t going to happen any time soon.
Accidentally unsubscribed, juts posting to fix that. Sorry.
Thanks guys,
If I haven't found it, it still helps to understand that's because it doesn't exist.
Patrick, I looked at and spoke to Aleutia. Their PC's looks sweet, the screen too but it has an integral stand with the wires fed up through some kind of hinged arm.
I'm happy to be corrected.
Anyone know of DIY retro-fit VESA plates?
