I am trying to get information out of some volvo engine to a mnea 2000 network. Because of the age of the engines 2003 volvo say its impossible because they use proprietary can bus code. Has any one managed to solve this?

You could try to connect the Volvo NMEA2000 GATEWAY at the helm. May work if your system is not too old.
