I have Simnet in my Hanse 320 with IS20 instruments and AP24 autopilots. Very happy with how Simnet and the instruments communicate. Last summer I bought a GPSMAP 620 which I used separately, but I would now like to connect it to the Simnet such that I can read/save instrument data on the 620 and communicate with the Autopilot.
Would appreciate some advice on the following:
1. Assume I can use AT10 to connect the two since both use NMEA0183
2. I would like to have the bracket on the GPSMAP620 removable and I therefore need advice on which connectors to use. The connector would be fitted outside at the pedestal and I live in an area with quite a lot of rain.
Answer to #1: Yes. That's what you need.
A warning, HansB: The AT10 doesn't translate all SimNet/N2K messages into 0183. I discussed this in the entry below, where there's also a link to the manual with a list of data translated. The newer Actisense NGW-1 seems to have a more complete set of translations, but it will necessitate a SimNet to N2K patch cable.

As far as a good NMEA 0183 to 0183 connector set, I don't really have a suggestion. Which is one of the reasons I wish Garmin had put a NMEA 2000 port on the otherwise great 600 series.
