Ok so I know I can connect a yamaha engine to nmea 2k by making a cable that has a yamaha device connector on one end and a nmea 2k connector on the other. I have done this more than once and it has worked just fine. My issue this time is i need to again connect my yamaha hub into my nmea bus. However my command link bus only has 3 device ports, all of which are being used to connect to yamaha gauges. My question is can I splice into one of the device cables in order to add a fourth device (connection to nmea), or do I have to buy and connect another yamaha hub? Any input would be appreciated.

Steve, I can't help you but I'm trying to connect my yamaha engine to an NMEA 2000 network but can't do it. I bought the Maretron mare 003 cable but I don't know how I can connect to the yamaha ECM - Can you help ?
