Hi there,
from what I've gathered in an entry from was that the BnG analogues can be connected to a simnet network and will display the data that is available. What I am curious about is whether I will be able to turn on the backlight on such a network when used with a Simrad IS20 instrument. The BnG brochure says that I need a GFD to turn the backlight on.
Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance
Philipp
Dunno about B&G, but Simnet uses PGN 130845 for backlight control. Here's what I have been able to find out so far:

Hi Philipp,
I don't know about B&G. It all depends on whether they use the Navico/Simnet PGN or a B&G specific one.
The Simnet PGN for backlight control is PGN 130845, see my packetlogger posts.

Hi Kees,
I wonder if BnG would tell me. I bet that they will not, but i will certainly try!
Thanks for your help Kees.
