It didn't happen last year,
www.panbo.com/archives/2008/05/raymarinegarmin_now_its_off
but the concept has resurfaced:
I hear Raymarine is on the block to be sold or possible chapter 11?
any one have any info?
What I hear, even from a competitor, is that Raymarine's announcement, linked to above, has more to do with very strict British stock market rules than a real business problem.
Interesting! Sounds like the Garmin buys Raymarine concept has moved forward a dite:

word is that garmin has stepped down and raymarine is still seeking a buyer. Not 100% on this but does anyone have any other info?
Garmin dropping out was announced a while back. The current situation, suppossedly, is that an unknown buyer -- FLIR and ZF are some of the rumors I've heard, but who knows -- is now doing due diligence, and the deal will be announced soon:

I have raymarine for sale. 2kw radar and color display.
