MaxSea Time Zero Release Date?

Vote 0 Votes

About mine months ago I purchased a complete Furuno NN3D system with the expectation that the Furuno version of MaxSea Time Zero was about to be released (I believe they are calling it version 13).

Unfortunately I am still waiting and Furuno is completely silent on the release date. Searching the web it appears to be available in Europe, plus some people are apparently using it...

Anyone know the REAL story?

  • I had a conversation with a Furuno tech a few weeks back who told me "June or July". We'll see...

  • I saw a demo of MaxSea TimeZero at the Miami boat show, and it looked great, I thought. But Furuno did not have a release date or a price for it then, or when I asked again in March. This, mind you, was the stand alone version, not the version that will integrate with NavNet3D, and will come later...

  • There will be, or are, two versions of MaxSea Time Zero. I believe the Navigator version has been available for a year or so outside the US. You're waiting for the Explorer version which will interface with NN3D.

Unfortunately the Navigator version will not allow you to transfer waypoints / routes to/from your NN3D systems.

I've spent some time testing the Explorer version and I'd be surprised if it was released in June or July.

  • Last week at Furuno promised to get me a beta version of Explorer for me to test in our next ocean race. They tell me I will be the first one to use it in the US - we will see...

We leave June 6, so hopefully we get it installed and functional before then...

  • The stand alone version of Time Zero has been available for a while. They just released version 1.6. You can download it from the maxsea website if you are a registered user.
