I spoke with a Furuno rep yesterday at the Defender Warehouse sale concerning his WiFi radar system. His take was that in order to make the DRS4w talk to Nobeltec's Ipad app, I had to buy the DRS4w unit through Nobeltec. But there is no such package on Nobeltec's website, although there is one for a PC/Mac based system that has a price point substantially above the cost of the DRS4W.
The Nobeltec sales people, on the other hand make no such representation. They say I Simply buy the DRS4w and then buy the charts and radar wpps from the App store and you are good to go.
The DRS4w with the free Furuno app is a one for one replacement for my ancient Furuno 1730 CRT that lives in the main cabin and is mounted on the mother of all gantry systems to make is "viewable" from the wheel. Adding in the Nobeltec apps for another $100 seals the deal.
Does anyone have specific experience that proves that the Nobeltec folks are right ?
