I'm very intrigued with the Navico "TotalScan" transducer which supports Downscan, Chirp and sidescan in a transom mount and can be run either through an Elite-TI/Go-7XSE MFD or the Sonarhub to a system MFD.
My question is has anyone tried placing this in a flat sump of a bilge and shooting through the fiberglass?
I've had good results with a 170 kHz Xducer doing that, and realize that the propagation of 50, 200, 455, 800 kHz will be different, but am not sure how different.
Alternatively could affix it to the exterior of the flat run and fish the cable up my centerboard trunk...
