On my boat I got a strange NMEA 2000 setup. There is a Furuno MFD at a T-connector followed by a FI501 and FI503 in daisy chain configuration. The FI503 is than connected to one of the drop connectors in a FI5002 junction box. both terminators in the junction box are not set. There is also a GP33 GPS receiver and a DST800 depth sounder connected to the junction box. None of the termination resistors is set. Nothing is connected to the backbone connectors of the junction box.
I now added an Actisense NGW-1 bridge to the Junction box, but I can not receive any data from the wind instrument. I am receiving data from the depth sounder. The MFD is receiving data from the wind instruments.
I hope someone can help me with the following questions:
1. What PGNs is the FI501 wind instrument transmitting?
2. When daisy chaining FI50 instruments, should they be part of the backbone or part of a drop cable?
3. When part of the backbone, can they be in the middle between the MFD and the sensors.
