Has anyone hooked up an NMEA device to the C70 classic MFD that's mounted at the Helm on the pedestal instrument pod? The cable has to run down the stainless steel mounting tubes, into the aft cabin bunk roof and into the aft locker. Then you need to run it to the NMEA device, an AIS Transceiver in my case, which needs to be cabled up to the VHF antenna up by the NAV station (Catalina 320- >12 feet away as the crow flies). The cable that RayMarine provides (R08004) is 1.5 meters long. That's not gonna get me into the aft locker with all the fishin' I'll need to do. Are there any longer cables available with the 5-pin connected installed? Or can I make up a cable? How long can I run the NMEA 0183 signal?
